Azam has started his career as a Design Engineer in DPM Engineering Pty Ltd (Australia) back in 2014, a start-up company with focus on business process design and automotive systems implementation. Later, Azam was called by FELDA to serve in Research and Development Office then subsequently, moved into Chairman’s Office where Azam served three chairmen on vast corporate issues such as strategy, finance, operational improvement, governance and organisational transformation. Between 2017-2020, Azam worked directly under FELDA Chairman’s supervision to prepare comprehensive reports, analysist and presentation materials for critical meetings such as Board, Minister and Prime Minister meetings. In February 2020, Azam was made as a Section Head of Planning and Reporting, FELDA Group Strategic Planning which was responsible for the development, updating and monitoring of FELDA Group Strategic Plan before moving up to as Project Management Officer by the Director General Office to assist with Jawatankuasa Pemantauan Pelaksanaan dan Keberkesanan Pelan Pemulihan FELDA lead by Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar. Starting February 2021, Azam is now serving with Department of Asset Management where he currently oversees the departmental strategic and planning unit and is responsible for the supervision of the overall mining related activities. Outside of FELDA, Azam is involved as an advisory to one of the local start ups company specifically on Strategic Planning and Governance.
